Rentang tahun 1970-an sampai 2000-an awal masyarakat Pulau Bangka patut bangga karena punya produk minuman yang dikelola sendiri. Apalagi kalau bukan produk minuman Barvo dan City . Produk minuman ini suatu keharusan mendampingi kue-kue yang disajikan untuk tamu saat lebaran IdulFitri dan Iduladha dan moment hari besar lainnya.
Dari berbagai sumber, produk minuman ini dikelola oleh dua kakak beradik. Minuman berkarbonasi Bravo diproduksi di Kampung Dul tepatnya di Silok yang kini terletak di belakang RS. Siloam Bangka. Jalan menuju ke tempat pembuatannya diberi nama Jalan Bravo . Sementara itu minuman City diproduksi di Semabung arah Pasirputih Pangkalpinang.
Kedua jenis minuman dengan botol unik berukuran 290 ml dengan tinggi sekitar 20 cm. Bravo dan City memiliki varian warna orange, hijau dan hitam. Merek kedua minuman ini ditulis berwarna hijau yang menandakan merek keduanya; Bravo dan City . Bagian tutup bibir botol menggunakan rujak yang dibuat dari seng yang dbuka menggunakan alat khusus dengan prinsip pesawat sedehana tuas. Tutup-tutup itu menjadi bahan mainan setelah lebaran. Adapun petinya menggunakan papan segi empat.
Kini kedua jenis minuman ini terutama City tidak diproduksi lagi, sementara itu Bravo konon katanya masih diproduksi dengan jumlah terbatas dan masih dijual di Jalan Trem Pangkalpinang. Pembaca ada yang mau mencoba? Lain waktu kita cari di Jalan Trem Pangkalpinang, ya!
