Keberadaan masjid di Kampung Petaling bisa dilihat pada peta Opgenomen door den Topografischen Dienst in 1928-1929 DD 30,6 yang diterbitkan tahun 1931.

Masjid ini dibuat dari batu (batu bata, ditandai dengan warna merah).

Berada di tengah kampung di sebelah barat jalan Niet verharde weg, in alle meossons geschikt voor veldartillerie, van 2-4 m breed. (Jalan tak beraspal, cocok untuk artileri lapangan di segala area, lebar 2-4 m) dan sebelah Utara jalan raya verharde weg, waarvan de verharding 2-4 m breed is (jalan beraspal yang lebarnya 2-4 meter).

Masjid lama dirobohkan dan dibangun masjid yang lebih megah dan luas pada tahun 2014 dengan membebaskan lahan di sekitar masjid.
